Moodle not working on mac

However, if unzip it to a folder and then rezip it and try to use it I get the following in Moodle: "Incorrect file package - missing imsmanifest. I tried using a different program to re-zip the folder and got the same results. What am I missing here?

However, my PC notebook loads it no problem. Help me out because I really do not want to have to do my schoolwork on the PC. My mac has never had any problems like this and is super fast; when i send the url it begins to load and the screen changes as if it's going to load the new page but the loading bar shoots up to just under halfway and then suddenly stalls, and won't move from there.
